Domain forwarding is also called as URL redirection/forwarding. It is a technique on the world wide web for making a web page available under many URLs. It allows to redirect web requests of our domain name to content hosted on a different server.

An author may move a site to a new domain name. Using the URL redirects, the incoming requests to the old URL can be redirected to the new URL. This will help the users who use bookmarks and will also avoid searching and detecting the new URL in search engines.
You will be notified 10 days, prior to the expiration of your domain name. You must renew your domain name to maintain ownership.

One of the many ranking factors in Google's search engine algorithm is the age of a domain name. Domain age is counted from the time of registration.
Two things that are considered in the age of a domain name:
  • The age of the website
  • The length of time a domain has been registered
The age of the website is determined by how long the content has been actually on the web, how long the site has been in the promotion and even it considered the last time content was updated in site.
The google ranking also takes the domain registration duration into account whether it’s registered for 1 year or multiple years.
Yes, you can. Domain registered will be in money back period for 1 days from the date of registration. Domain name can be cancelled during this money back period. The domain name cancellation incurs charges and new domain name can be registered as fresh domain.

The domain name changes required on the hosting can be done by sending request mail to support@sathyainfo.com. New domain name can be swapped with the old domain name and name servers needs to be updated for new domain.
If a name is not found in a registrar's database, it simply means that the name is not being managed by that particular registrar.
Subdomains are usually treated as separate sites from the main domain site. Consider subdomains as an extension of your domain. For example, your site is www.example.com. A subdomain would be test.example.com.
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) made it mandatory to verify the WHOIS info of all the new domain name registration and domain contact updates.

Registered Name Holder of a domain name need to verify the domain ownership verification process, thereby an email containing a verification link will be sent to the registrant email address.

The link in the email must be clicked by the recipient of the email in order to complete the verification process. Failure to complete the verification process within 15 days will result in the domain being suspended by the registrar.

First, check the inbox in your registered mail id. If you still can't find it, then check the mail in Spam/junk folder. If you did not receive mail then do contact us, so that we can re-send the verification email. Once if its verified, domain will be active within 2-5 hours in all ISP network.
The changes in DNS entries might take some propagation time to take effect. In the meantime, the site can be viewed using the local DNS servers.
The local DNS servers are located in

In Windows:
WINDOWSsystem32driversetchosts
In Linux:
/etc/hosts

In the host file just you need to add the IP and sitename like
mysitename.com x.x.x.x(IP)
Now the site can be viewed as such in the Main server.

Propagation is the period of time, or delay, involved in sending your domain's address information to all the various nameservers in the world. Nameservers intentionally keep track of addresses for domains in their memory for a specific period of time (defined by the administrator of the nameserver). This speeds up the process of looking up an address for a domain name. Unfortunately, this "cached" information also stays in the nameservers when it has been changed at the source of the original information (the domain's registrar).

Nameservers refresh themselves from once an hour to once a day. Experience dictates that 2-3 days is a good estimate for the period of time from when a domain's DNS information is changed at the domain registrar to when everyone in the world can see the change.
The Name Servers once updated will take a time period of 5-24 hours to propagate in all ISP's. Once domain got propagated and points to the hosting server, it will run up and fine.
To access your sites before the domain has propagated, simply access via the server's IP address and the username of the account.
For Linux Hosting: Type the following URL in the web address field to access your website.
http://<(serverip)> /~<(username)>
For Windows Hosting: Login to Plesk panel and click preview link.
Domain parking is a method of registering a domain name and employing it for later use. The person, who owns the domain, will make use of it in future. Normally, the parked domains are saved for future use. Though the site is required only in the future, it is generally booked earlier so that no one else books the same name.

It is also known as inactive domain. It is possible to park a website or domain name, before it is completely launched.

Domain Parking is of two types, 'Monetized and Non-monetized'. In case of Monetized, ads are displayed in site to earn revenue. If it is non-monetized, the 'Page under construction' message will be displayed.
For e.g., 'mysite.com' is the main domain and 'myothersite.com' is the parked domain.
No, it is an automated process. Your domain gets activated automatically. Once you make payment for your domain order, it gets activated on its own. Only the hosting order is done by manual process.
A domain will be suspended by the service provider under two circumstances - Phishing or Scam activities. If the service provider finds a particular website indulged in either of these activities, then they will suspend the account of the respective domain or website.

Your domain may also be suspended if you tried changing your profile address or registered email id after domain registration process.
No, it is not possible to have an e-mail account in domain. If you like to host e-mail accounts, then you need to purchase the hosting space. You can create mail accounts in either Windows or Linux hosting plan.
Yes, it is possible to create a mail account with its associated domain name, if you have purchased a hosting pack for the domain name.
The term domain theft refers to an act of transferring the registration of a domain name without the permission of the owner of the domain. It is also referred as Domain Hijacking. This activity may cause financial loss to the domain owner. The person who had hijacked a domain may shutdown the website right away or else he will do any phishing or scamming activities, so that the reputation of the website will go down.
Normally 'Domain Hijacking' is done by utilizing the loopholes in the registration process of the domain or through 'Social Engineering' i.e tricks or tactics used to steal a domain name.

But the common trick handled by a domain hijacker is, he will collect details of the domain owner and personify like him. It is like a 'Identity Theft'.
Child Name Servers are generally called as the 'Secondary Name Servers'. These are also the name servers which are registered with the registry under a user's domain name. It can be registered only by the person who owns the domain.

Generally, the resellers practice this method to hide the identity of the provider from where they have hosted the account.

Suppose a provider has name servers ns11.sathyadns.net and ns12.sathyadns.net, the reseller's clients can mention ns11.resellerdomain.com and ns12.resellerdomain.com to hide the identity of the hosting account.
You can redirect a domain name to your existing blog. You must use the Domain Forwarding method for redirection purposes.

Yes, it is possible to shift a domain to an new server. In case of any emergency conditions, if needed we can move the customer's domains to our other servers.
You cannot be able to view your site if you have modified the domain name in the hosting end.

Normally you have to use the registered domain name in the hosting too. If any alterations done to the domain name, then the website will not be displayed.
Domain Sniping is the activity of registering a domain name, whose registration had failed immediately after its expiry. In the meantime, the domain snipers register the domain before it was done by the owners of the domain. In some cases, people may register an expired domain with the intention of reselling it to its original owner at high cost.

In order to obtain high price, the domain sniper will redirect the site to some other site. This intends the original owner of the domain to get back the domain name even by incurring heavy costs.

ICANN have introduced Redemption Grace Period (RGP), in order to stop the sniping activities. This gives an opportunity for the current domain holder/owner to re-register or renew his expired domain within the next 30 days after expiry date. So that others will be restricted from registering that expired domain.
Redemption Grace Period is a method devised by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) in order to eliminate the domain sniping activities.

Through this method a domain owner can renew his expired domain within 30 days from the expiry date. In the meantime, others will be denied permission to register the expired domain. Note that domain name cannot be registered by another registrant during the 'Redemption Grace Period'.
Grace Period also called as renewal grace period is the time period after domain expiry date within which the domain owner can renew the domain by paying the renewal cost. No additional cost would be charged if the domain is renewed during the Grace Period.

Grace period may vary for different domain extensions.

After Grace period, the domain will fall into Domain Restoration Period. Domain restoration charge during domain restoration period will be very costly.
If a domain is not renewed by its owner before the end of its (domain) grace period, then the domain will be removed automatically.
The term 'Top Level Domain' refers to the domain, which exists at the topmost level in the hierarchical DNS of the Internet. An example for the top-level domain is .COM.
A domain which is located below the top-level domain [TLD] is termed as 'second level domain'. For example, in the domain name Sathyainfo.com , Sathyainfo is considered as the second level domain of the .com i.e the top-level domain. It is feasible to divide the second level domains to further domain level.
Domain Squatting is also referred as Cybersquatting. It is the activity of registering the domain name belonging to well-known firms, products or even celebrities. Usually, persons registers such domains with the aim of reselling them at higher costs.

At the same time the domain squatting is considered 'legal' at when a domain which doesn't belong/represent a particular firm or person or brand is registered by any person.
If you haven't update your nameserver details properly, you might receive 404 - Page Not Found when you try to access your website.
Just buying a domain name will not include any 'Space'. Note that a customer have to buy the hosting space separately. You can buy space from our respective hosting packages available in our SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited site.

Both the domain and hosting space are two different features. You can buy them individually or else together. One cannot launch a website without the domain or hosting.

To connect your registered domain with Google business Gmail account, You have to sign up for Google apps@https://gsuite.google.com/signup/business/business. Then you can add that record and feed in your domain panel to connect accordingly.
Sub domain is a subsidiary of the main domain. Example: abc.sathyainfo.com. Creation of sub domain is totally free.

Domain Parking is a method in which an already registered domain name is parked along with some other domain's hosting space. Usually, you can park a domain for free and it can be done from control panels. But parking domains cannot have their own web pages.

Add-on domains means additional domains hosted on the main domain's hosting space.
Only certain domain extensions including .COM, .NET, .ORG and .IN can be changed within the first One day from the date of registration. You need to mail the old domain name and the domain name to be changed newly to support@sathyainfo.com. A minimal cost is applicable for the change of the domain name.
You can check the availability of the domain at https://sathyainfo.com/domain-registration. If the domain is available in the above link, then it means that the domain name is in common pool.

Generally, it will take 40 days from the expiry date, for a domain to reach the common pool.
Register a domain name. Get the name server details from the blog website for which you would like to map your domain name. After getting the name servers, update the 'Name servers' in domain control panel. When the propagation ends, you can use the domain for your blog.
If you want https for your domain, then you need to buy the 'Security Certificate and Static IP'.
Static IP:
A static IP address is a number that is assigned to a computer by an Internet service provider (ISP) to be its permanent address on the Internet. This means that whether you type in your URL or the IP address of your website, both will bring you to the same page. For example, if someone types your domain name (www.yourdomain.com) in the address bar, that name will be converted into numbers and then the computer will be directed to that IP address (which is the web site).

The main reason for having a static IP address is that you can only use encryption for e-commerce on a static IP address.
Click here to Buy Static IP in SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited.

Shared IP:
A shared IP Address is an IP address which is shared by multiple websites. In this case, the web server does a little bit of extra work when it receives your web request and passes you to the correct website. Typing in the IP Address will not bring you to your desired website, under most conditions.
Domain Alias allows the user to add additional domain name to a website. You can assign unlimited domain names to a single website.

For Example: If your main domain name is Sathyainfo.com and the domain alias is assigned as in.sathyainfo.com. Then, when a person tries to access the alias website [in.sathyainfo.com], it will be redirected to the main domain [Sathyainfo.com].

Name Server

A name server translates domain names into IP addresses. This makes it possible for a user to access a website by typing in the domain name instead of the website's actual IP address.

Each domain name must have at least two-name servers listed when the domain is registered. These name servers are commonly named ns1.servername.com and ns2.servername.com, where servername is the name of the server.
This is a commonly asked question, I have purchased a hosting package from you and have uploaded my files, how to make my domain name fetch pages from the web space I purchased.

The answer is simple: Name Server

Once you made your hosting purchase from SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited, you would have received a mail with Name server details. Or you can also contact our support team to get your Nameserver details. Just update those nameservers to your domain and make your domain to fetch pages from the web space you have purchased with SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited.
The Name Servers once updated will take a time period of 5-24 hours to propagate in all ISP's. Once domain got propagated and points to the hosting server, it will run up and fine.
Propagation is the projected length of time it takes a domain's DNS (Domain Name System) information to be updated across the entire web after a change is made. The process can take 24-48 hours to complete in full. Because of propagation, not all visitors will be directed to your new name servers on your new hosting account; some visitors will continue to be directed to your old name servers on your old hosting account until propagation is complete.

How quickly visitors are directed to the new name servers depends on their physical location, and internet service provider; it is not something SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited has control over. Once propagation is complete, your site will appear on our server, and your email will be fully functional.

There is no definitive way to tell when propagation is complete. During the first 48 hours, even if you can see your site on the new server, your next-door neighbor might still be visiting the site on the old server. This depends on three factors: your ISP, geographical location, and TTL. There are also ways to see the propagation progress using the websites below. These will show your website's possible visibility.

There are also ways to see the propagation progress using the websites below. These will show your website's possible visibility.
Yes, you can upload the files during the domain propagation period. Note that you can upload the files through SFTP, but you cannot view your website as it will be still under the propagation. Once the propagation period ends, you can view your website.
It is not feasible to access a site when a domain is under propagation. But customers can use the 'preview url' to view their site at the time of domain propagation.
No, we cannot change the name server of the domain purchased from another company. You can ask your service provider from whom you purchased the domain.
You are unable to ping your website because you may have updated the Name Servers. So, your domain is still under the propagation period. Only when the domain propagation comes to end, you can ping your site.
a) When you have both domain and hosting with SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited, then
b) When you have only domain name with SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited, then
You can find the 'Name Server' information in the setup email itself. The setup mail is provided to you at the time of your domain/hosting registration.
In such scenario, you can use the name servers provided by your hosting service provider.
You can check by ping the domain name in your command prompt (or) Terminal.
Then ping the domain:
You should see, among other things lines something like this:

Reply from IPADDRESS: bytes=33 time=6ms TTL=56
Reply from IPADDRESS: bytes=33 time=6ms TTL=56
Reply from IPADDRESS: bytes=33 time=6ms TTL=56
Reply from IPADDRESS: bytes=33 time=8ms TTL=56

When you see your Server IP in above where IPADDRESS is you will know it's resolved in your end.
Yes, it is possible to point domain purchased with another service provider to SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited hosting. After purchasing hosting in SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited, you will be provided Name Server. Then, you have to update this name server to that particular domain for which you have to point.

Step 4: Do remember that, once the nameservers are updated it would take some 5 to 24 hours for propagation. Please be patient until to see the changes reflect in your website.

Domain Transfer

Domain Transfer means changing the domain Registrar. commonly known transfer process of domain between two registrars.

Our system sends an Authorization Request e-mail to the registrant Contact (Domain Name Holder) of the domain name as appearing in the Whois Search. You should Authorize transfer by selecting the proper link in the email.

After registrant contact's approval, Current Registrar should approve the Domain Transfer. Ideally, your domain name should be transferred within 5 days since the time this process was initiated.

Note that the domain transfer process will become successful, only when the old domain owner clicks/approves the domain transfer link.

After the above process gets completed, the domain will be automatically transferred and renewed here with one more year, then you can manage domain in SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited client account.
Important Note:
Important Rules:
These are the step-by-step process involved in domain transfer

Step 1: Transfer Request
You request or order for a domain name transfer.

Step 2: Order Process
The order will be processed only if the domain name is active.

Step 3: Fetching Admin contact (Domain Name Holder) Email
Our system automatically fetches the Admin Contact (Domain Name Holder) e-mail address by contacting the Whois Server of the Current Registrar. However, sometimes the Current Registrar's Whois Server may not respond to our request. Ideally our system attempts to fetch these details every hour. In case, the Current Registrar's Whois Server does not respond to our system, we have to manually fetch these details. If the status of your Transfer Order continues to display this status for over a few hours, our support team will guide you to make your current registrar update the contact details.

Step 4: Admin Contact Approval
Our system sends an Authorization Request e-mail to the Admin Contact (Domain Name Holder) of the domain name as appearing in the Whois Server of the Current Registrar. You should Authorize the transfer by selecting the proper link in the email.

Step 5: Losing Registrar Approval
After admin contact's approval, Current Registrar should approve the Transfer. Ideally, your domain name should be transferred within 5 days since the time this process was initiated.

Step 6: Transfer with One year Renewal
After the above process gets completed, the domain will be automatically transferred and renewed for one more year.
1.Domain name is less than 60 days Old - If the domain name you are trying to Transfer is less than 60 days old, the request will get rejected by the Registry itself. Domain names less than 60 days old are not allowed to be Transferred to any other Registrar as per ICANN Guidelines.

2.Domain name has been Transferred less than 60 days ago - A domain name cannot be Transferred to another Registrar within 60 days of a previous Transfer. For example, a domain name cannot be Transferred from Registrar B to Registrar C, if it has been Transferred to Registrar B from Registrar A within the last 60 days. An exception to this rule is the Transfer back to the previous Registrar in cases where both Registrars so agree and/or where a decision in the dispute resolution process so directs.

3.You have Locked your domain name - If you have Locked your domain name from the Control Panel provided by the current Registrar, then a Transfer Request for that domain name will not be allowed. You will first have to unlock the domain name from the Control Panel and then proceed with a Transfer Request.

4.Your Registrar has applied a Lock or Hold on your domain name - If the current Registrar has applied a Lock or Hold on the domain name due to some pending issue, you would be advised to get in touch with their (current Registrar's) Support Team to resolve this issue, before applying for a Transfer.

5.If the domain name is in the Redemption Grace Period or in the Pending Delete status, the domain name cannot be Transferred.
After making the payment for domain transfer, check your mail inbox. You would have received a confirmation mail from us. Simply click on the 'Transfer Approve' link in the mail. This action of yours will confirm that you have approved the domain transfer and have confirmed us as the new domain owner.

Now the losing registrar (person who owns the domain) needs to approve it. A mail would have already reached your old registrar. So, you should wait until they approve it.
Customer can do the domain transfer process at free of cost with SATHYA Technosoft India Private Limited. But customer must compulsorily renew the domain for 1 year at the time of the transfer of the domain name.
Domain locking is a security measure to avoid illegal transfer of your domain name to another registrar. When your domain is locked, you will be protected from illicit third parties who might try to transfer your domain or else reroute your name servers. There is also a chance for hacking and modifying your details.

If you want to lock your domain name, then send a mail to support@sathyainfo.com. The request should come from your registered email id.
Normally there are two kinds of transfers are available. The first one is simply changing the hosting server. The second is, transferring the domain as well as hosting package. In the first method there will be no issues to the users. Changing both domain and hosting may involve a lot of time.
